Austin lim | abstract contemporary artist
Austin Lim is an abstract contemporary artist who draws inspiration from the weird things in life, literature, and society. He works in both traditional and digital art, often times using a combination of ink, watercolor, and Photoshop to create unique and highly detailed pieces of art.
The visual arts have been a fairly recent endeavor for Austin. Since the summer of 2015, he has been (secretly) running a shop on Etsy, an online marketplace for artists and handmade crafters. After the sale of his first abstract minimalist print just weeks after the listing went live, he went on an art rampage, Photoshopping piece after piece to fill his digital portfolio. In about two years of digital art sales experience, he's been able to fill more than 100 homes internationally with collections of strategically colored shapes or little ironic absurdities about the world. In addition to Etsy, he also has his designs for sale across the internet. This year, he published his first art book called "Black Dots and Black Lines," and regularly broadcasts his creative process live.
Outside of art, he is also a performance artist, a food enthusiast, a hardcore gamer, and a neuroscience lover. But more than anything it's the food thing. He loves food. A lot.
